Barking and Dagenham Registrars, in Longbridge Road, Barking, has opened again after technical issues.
The centre, based in Arden House, was closed until 2pm after technical problems with one of the safes.
Some appointments were re-arranged.
The registrar office, among other things, records births, deaths and marriages and is open to the public Monday to Friday.
