Witnesses to a shooting which wounded a 20-year-old man are being urged to come forward by police in Dagenham.

The incident, which took place around the Trefgarne Road area in Dagenham on Monday, November 26, was only reported to police once the victim had presented himself to staff at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel the same evening.

The gun-shot wound was not life threatening and the man continues to receive treatment.

Officers from operation Trident are investigating the incident. Trident Gang Crime Command is an arm of the Met police specialising in tackling gang violence and the prevention and investigation of all shootings in London.
