Commuters on the Hammersmith and City and Circle lines are benefitting from upgraded, newly air conditioned Tube trains.
A new fleet of services running from Barking to Hammersmith has been rolled out by Transport for London and more are set to be introduced in spring.
The trains, which offer better access as they are walk-through for the first time, also have room for almost a fifth more passenger, TfL said.
Nigel Holness, director of operational change and upgrades for London Underground, said: βIt is the first of 53 new trains that will operate on the Hammersmith & City and Circle lines and will start rolling out in earnest from spring next year.β
The trains will also have automated visual displays and station announcements, plus CCTV, as well as dedicated wheelchair areas and a smaller gap between the train and platform.
