TWELVE young people from the borough took part in a series of financial education workshops and debates last week.
The workshops, organized by education charity MyBnk, were designed to arm youths with real life money skills.
Participants learnt about the importance of managing their personal finances, and covered areas such as loans, credit cards, interest rates and mortgages.
MyBnk founder and CEO Lily Lapenna said: “We have seen an amazing enthusiasm from young people in Barking and Dagenham. They want to know how to stay out of debt and avoid the financial difficulties many of us are facing right now.”
