For 13 years Abbi Jebson has been searching for her two uncles, Tommy and Jonny, and her aunt, Elaine, who share the surname, Ronan.

The 28-year-old believes they grew up in Barking or Dagenham after her dad was separated from his mum when he was five years old and put into care.

Since posting about her search on Facebook, a woman from Dagenham has contacted Abbi saying she remembers their names.

“Someone messaged me saying she knew them in the ’70s and ’80s but didn’t know where they were now,” said Abbi, who lives in Weston-super-Mare.

“She said they lived in Green Lane in Dagenham near the Woolworths and used to drink at the Royal Oak.”

Her father, Carl Ronan, never knew his younger siblings but always wanted to find them to “check they were ok”.

“I was really close to my dad and part of why I’m doing this is for him,” Abbi added. “It would be amazing to tell them we’ve been looking for them all these years.”

Carl’s death, caused by a heart attack in 2002, spurred Abbi on to search harder. The mum-of-five managed to find Elaine’s birth register on ancestry.co.uk but no record of where she is now.

If you have any information which might help Abbi’s hunt, search “Help me find my family. My auntie Elaine and uncles Tommy and Jonny” on Facebook.
