Staff and customers at Dagenham Asda joined forces on Saturday to raise £195 for charity in an organised day of fun.

The supermarket on Merrielands Crescent took part in the British Heart Foundation’s Ramp Up The Red campaign to help people suffering from heart disease around the country.

A young girl won an Ipod by guessing the amount of steps store manager, Tony Brien, took that day, her winning guess being close to his 14,270 strides.

There was also a tombola with lots of prizes and staff wore red to mark the occasion.

Bev Young, the community colleague for Dagenham’s Asda said: “It was a really good day and we want to thank everyone for their support and the money they helped raise.”
