If you received unwanted Christmas presents this year you can donate them do a Dagenham bingo hall so they can be used to raise money for charity.

Mecca Bingo, in Dagenham Leisure Park, are offering a “present amnesty” whereby people can drop unwanted gifts they have received over the Christmas period.

The presents will then be given to charity Carers Trust.

Dan Tree, manager of Mecca Dagenham, said: “There are no words to describe the importance of what carers do in our community, and it is an honour to continue supporting Carers Trust and help make life that little bit easier for the many unpaid carers across Dagenham.

“Christmas is all about sharing and feeling generous but we know some of us do receive gifts that are not suitable or that we already have.”

Research shows 71 per cent of Brits expected to receive at least one unwanted gift this year, with a total value of almost £17 million nationally.
