The Post is backing a Movember appeal that kicks off today at West & Coe’s Dagenham branch.

The manager of the funeral firm, John Crewe, has got himself into a hairy situation – by vowing to shave off his 47-year-old tache if the company raises £10k.

The money raised will go towards men’s health charities, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.

Hoping to grow an impressive “mo” himself, West and Coe managing director Jeremy West MBE said: “Since our family business was formed in 1903 we’ve always been pleased to play an extremely active role in the community.

“Within our business we regularly care for families who have lost loved ones from men’s related illnesses and our team at West and Coe is very aware of the need to support the fantastic Movember Foundation.”

The global organisation says it is committed to “changing the face of men’s health” by challenging men to grow a moustache for the 30 days of November.
