A Dagenham man has been charged with drink-driving, failing to stop and failing to keep driver’s records in connection with a fatal crash.
Darren Kettley, 48, of Porters Avenue, Dagenham, was driving a Volvo tipper truck which collided with a Suzuki Swift car on Frinton Road in Kirby Cross.
Charles Mayes, 95, who lived in the Essex village, died at the scene on December 12 last year.
Mr Kettley has been released on police bail to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on June 23 to face the three charges.
