DAGENHAM Park School celebrated retaining its status as an arts college with thrilling performances of hit musical Oliver!
The comprehensive in School Road last week staged three shows with 13-year-old Shannon Quinn playing Oliver.
Head of drama Jenni Lewis, 27, said the musical modelled on the West End version was the first "whole school production" bringing together its music, drama and dance departments.
She said: "The students did it all in their own time to develop a culture of whole school production and give the kids an amazing experience."
The secondary school reached its third phase as an arts college after receiving its original government accreditation in September 2001.
Director of performing arts Carol Tustanowsky said it was an important achievement for the community and all its partner schools.
Mrs Tustanowsky, 47, added: "It was fabulous, it was a really professional production. It really showed the dedication from the staff and students.
