Dagenham road collision teen Bradley Trimmer still in coma as family thanks supporters

Teen road collision victim Bradley Trimmer’s family said they are “over the moon” at the hundreds of well-wishers who have come forward with offers of help and messages of support for the 13-year-old.
The Dagenham schoolboy is still in a coma after being hit by a car along High Road, Chadwell Heath, more than a week ago, and suffering serious head injuries.
A video of Bradley has been posted online by his family, while a Facebook page set up for thoughts and prayers has received nearly 500 followers and has been inundated with kind words.
His aunt, Chrissie Snell, said: “We are just waiting for Bradley to wake up. We’re just still sitting by his bedside, willing him to wake up, wanting him to wake up.”
She said messages were still “flooding through”, adding: “The family have found it fantastic, everyone is really over the moon at how much support he has got from strangers, family, friends and even people in different countries.

She also said the family would like to thank the emergency services.

Bradley, who is in year nine at Eastbrook Comprehensive School, was with his 12-year-old girlfriend when they were both in collision with a grey Audi A4 in High Road, near to the junction with Mill Lane, at around 4pm on Saturday January 5.
Valerie Dennis, headteacher at Bradley’s school, said the family had sent a card to the school for his friends and anyone that knows him to sign.
She added that road safety and awareness at the school is part of an ongoing curriculum teaching pupils to stay safe in all walks of life.
A police spokesman said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances around the incident and monitor the progress of the injured teenager.
