Tuneful youngsters in the Dagenham school’s choir were among 7,500 children who raised the roof, supported by a live band.

The once in a lifetime experience was thanks to music foundation Young Voices which brings together pupils from schools across the country to take part in massive concerts.

Following rehearsals in the afternoon, the evening performance included appearances from X Factor finalist Lucy Spraggan and street dance group Urban Strides.

James Singh, the school’s events co-ordinator, said: “Our choir thoroughly enjoyed themselves and loved every minute of the day.
