Robert Clack Comprehensive School donated £1,000 to the mayor’s charity.

Headteacher Sir Paul Grant handed over a cheque to Mayor Cllr Eileen Keller during a Year 7 community assembly at the school in Green Lane, Dagenham, on Monday.

The money will support the mayor’s charity, Richard House Children’s Hospice.

Students and teachers have been raising funds with non-uniform days and charity fun days throughout the year, to help support the Beckton-based charity.

Paul Argent, senior leader of the learning community, said: “The pupils were very enthusiastic to support a charity, such as Richard House Children’s Hospice, which provides specialist care to over 300 children and young adults
with life-limiting health conditions.”
