Students were celebrating their school’s 100 per cent pass rate - its best ever A-Level result.

Every student at Eastbrook School, Dagenham Road, passed his or her A-Levels, with 75 per cent of them achieving grades A* - C.

Among them are twins Shannen and Sam Turner, who both achieved exactly the same results - a grade A for Media Studies, two distinctions for ICT and a distinction for Legal Studies at Level 3.

Another student, Scott Gregory, achieved grade A for both Business Studies and Physics and a grade B for both Accountancy and Maths. He is off to Southampton University to study Astrophysics.

Beth Healey, who is hoping to become a teacher, received A* for English along with a B for Media Studies and a B for Sociology.

One quarter of all A-Level grades achieved at Eastbrook School this year were A* and A grades.

Headteacher Valerie Dennis said: “Our school has an excellent sixth form where students really feel supported and all students can achieve top grades ready for the next stage in their career. I am so pleased for the students, their families and for their teachers.”

Assistant headteacher Dawn Hawkins said: “Our sixth form goes from strength to strength and although an increased number of students have already signed up to join us next year we still have some places available, so it is worth contacting the school next week if any students want to join us for Year 12 next year.”
