Barking and Dagenham College student Sabine Bindere has reached the final of 2011 Fashion Futures 2 project.
The talented designer, 19, has been selected along with 23 other young people from London and Manchester to present their unique designs on the London Fashion Week catwalk in September.
She was one of 100 students who took part in the competition, organised by charity FAD, but only the most promising young designers were selected for the next stage.
They will have one week to demonstrate determination and dedication at a special event at the University of East London.
Sabine said: “The day I found out I was going to the FAD summer school was one of the greatest days of my life.
“I am very proud to be part of it.
“I want to go on to fashion design and taking part in the FAD project has already helped me lots.
“Personally, I feel more confident and now I want to show my talent.”
