Dagenham to be included in second ‘crap towns’ book? Have your say

PUBLISHED: 17:00 11 July 2013 | UPDATED: 14:34 12 July 2013

Calling all residents to save Dagenham from making it into the second edition of Crap Towns.

In 2003, Dagenham was listed number 41 in the unexpected bestselling book Crap Towns: The 50 Worst Places to Live in the UK.

Ten years on the publishers are back to see if things have changed and they have released a long-list of 100 towns that could make the final cut, and Dagenham is back on it.

Along with Dagenham are nearby Hackney and the 2003 ‘winner’ Hull, but there’s also some surprising additions such as David Cameron’s rural escape Chipping Norton, and twee country setting Glastonbury.

But Dagenham’s inclusion to the 2013 book is not a given and the public are being given the right to reply.

The Crap Town publishers are encouraging people to comment on their website - craptownsreturns.com - and to post on Twitter in defence (or in support) of their town being included by using the hashtags #craptown or #notacraptown.
