The rain held off as the Town Show parade made its way through Central Park, complete with dancing dalmations and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Visitors cheered on a host of wacky and colourful floats carrying clubs and groups from across the borough.

Fusion Dance Crew dressed up as characters from popular kid’s TV show SpongeBob SquarePants and rode along in a sea themed lorry, while Sue Garner School of Dance went prehistoric in their Flintstones outfits.

There were plenty of majorette groups taking part, including Lilac and Whites, who wore spotty dalmation outfits. And Dagenham’s Ab Phab Youth Club turned their float in to a train.

The parade was led by the talented Dagenham Girl Pipers.

This year’s winning float in the children’s contest was the Fusion Dance Crew.

The junior winner was Ab Phab.

Over at the West and Coe Funeral Director’s stand, the names of 13 people, who had taken part in a quiz, were drawn out of a hat to win one of three top prizes, either a meal for two, Dagenham and Redbridge Football tickets or a football shirt.

Among the winners were Richard Goosetree, Daz Milnes and Harry Jowitt.
