Dagenham vets to take on gruelling challenges in aid of pet charities

Pet charities will get a welcome boost as teams of vets compete in a series of gruelling challenges to raise funds.

A quartet of animal health specialists from vet practice YourVets, Whalebone Lane South, Dagenham, will be running, walking, cycling, kayaking and orienteering to raise money for the Vet Charity Challenge.

The team, including pet health adviser Leanne McPhail, vet Dimitar Mitev, head receptionist Julie Vincent and Lawrence Brown, will be taking part this September at Pershore College, Worcestershire.

Kim Elcock, practise manager at YourVets Dagenham, said: “We are all really excited to be taking part in the Vet Charity Challenge.

“We see this as a great way to get fitter and we will be training together over the summer months to make sure we are up for the challenge.”

Money raised will go towards Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, SPANA and Animals Asia. To donate, visit the practice or call 0203 597 7501.

Last year the challenge raised £21,000.
