Staff from Wilko set a shining example raising more than £1,000 on a night-time walk under the stars.
Dagenham store manager Steve Vac was joined by team members Leona Simpson and Leanne Stanbrook on the Cancer Research UK 26-mile Shine Walk last month.
The trio ignored aches, pains and blisters - and the cold, wet weather - and blitzed on with the route around London’s landmarks.
Meanwhile their colleagues in store were also travelling 26 miles, albeit on a treadmill, in return for customer donations.
Altogether the store raised £1,100 for the charity.
Steve Vaz said: “I think it’s safe to say that we did a fantastic job at the Shine Walk, giving up our beauty sleep and Saturday night plans to raise vital funds for our charity of the year. The rest of the team did a great job of supporting us in store too.”
