Scott Griffiths gives Daggers a 1-0 win with a last-minute header

GOALFLASH: Scott Griffiths nets a last minute winner to give Daggers victory!

Well, I didnt see that coming, but a corner reached Griffiths and he headed past Jones from close range. Excellent finish from the left back - who hasnt scored for Daggers in years!

Good reward that for a high tempo last period of the game, and Daggers can now go on to Crewe next week in high spirits.

JB again: Darren Bent? I'd not even have him on a free. :)

I must be one of the only people around who actually rates him!

Howard Newton has now come on for Danny Green - apparently he is from Staines, but that is all I know at the moment!

80MINS: Pires just found Melligan with a lovely raking ball, but the shot was off target.

There's precious little else to really mention though, and I wouldnt be surprised if this ends goalless (cue a rush of goals now...)

Jamey Barron has been back in touch again

Might be a good time to get some of the kids out playing too! Who to get in on loan is a big question! Someone up front - perhaps Pavlyuchenko as Spurs have a massive squad....?

I hear Darren Bent isn't too happy there...

Daggers also make three changes now - Antwi, Gain and Benson all off - Doe, Montgomery and Scott come on.

Orient make a double change as Patulea and Pires on for Scowcroft and Thornton.

70MINS: Not much happened since the last update, although there is a screaming girl in the Orient fans to my left, which thankfully has stopped.

Daggers still having the odd attack, and Nurse saw a show blocked, but it petered out into nothing.

60MINS: Daggers came oh so close then as Benson's shot crept across goal, rebounded off the post and back into Jones' arms.

Incidentally, the keeper hardly moved, which was very bizarre, as he would have looked quite foolish had it gone in.

McGleish has been replaced by Jarvis for Orient here, but its Daggers on top as I type.

Jamey Barron has been in touch, a warm welcome to you.

He says: Not there today (first day of my leave, and couldn't get organised).

HT against a team who spanked Newcastle seems a good start! If, after all the losses, we can consolidate this season and have a good solid midtable, we can fully establish ourselves in the big league.

It's important for us to develop and not slip back down like Rushden and Diamonds. As a smallish club with not a lot of spending power, a few shrewd loans (from Spurs now Harry is there...) might do us a trick.

Lets hope Benno gets one soon, else I might start calling for him to be subbed....

Im in agreement, that this season is an important one, and if Daggers can continue to improve, with a number of younger players in the squad, then it will be as good as an achievement as last season.

The signing of Antwi is a crucial one though - he and Arber have a solid partnership building at the back.

50MINS: Orient have started the stronger here as Melligan swung over a cross that Antwi did well to head clear, while McGleish's shot was palmed out by Roberts.

Taiwo then was extremely lucky to remain on the pitch after a shocking tackle on Daniels by going in studs showing.

He's escaped with a booking, but it should have been much worse.

Underway again now as Melligan replaces Baker for Orient

HALF TIME: No goals here then as both teams troop in for a cuppa.

Not a bad half for Daggers as they look dangerous on the break, though Orient will be ruing that miss by Thornton, which looked more difficult to do than score.

Join me again in 15 minutes for the second half, and if you have anything youd like add, email: daggersmatch@live.co.uk

40MINS: Daggers upping the tempo here as Nurse has one tame shot saved and then Nurse drove one over the bar from close range.

Taiwo also curled a shot wide, while the Orient fans near the press box arent overly pleased with their sides football, until a nice move and cross sees Smith have an effort deflected over the bar.

30MINS: Somehow Orient arent ahead here as a good move involving Smith and Baker ends with Demtrious cross finding Thornton at the back post, but from a yard out, he volleys it off for a throw.

Shocking miss there from away side!

25MINS: Plenty of action now after Griffiths takes an acrobatic tumble and lands very awkwardly on his back, but thankfully there is no injury there.

Roberts shows good handling to get down to a shot from Baker, while Nurse is inches away from connecting with Benson's volley, as both sides look to break the deadlock.

20MINS: Very close there as Arber throws himself at a Green corner, but his diving header flies wide, while Thornton fires a free kick just over the bar at the other end.

Orient are looking neat and tidy at the moment, with some good interchanges in the middle of the field, but as of yet, Roberts hasnt had a shot to save.

On the stand front, theres been quite a bit of development since Wednesday night, with the concrete base for the seats in now too. Its all starting to come together quite nicely.

10MINS: All square here, but its Orient so far who have come closest.

Thurgood headed a Demetriou cross off the line, while Harry Baker fizzed one wide of Roberts goal.

The front two for Daggers are looking not too bad, with Nurse reading some of Benson's intelligent flicks, but as yet, they havent worked Jamie Jones.
