Daggers earn an excellent 2-1 win over Chesterfield

FULL TIME Thats it, Daggers take another three points to the delight of their fans, who are giving them a warm round up.

JB adds: Come on Daggers - another one to kill the game off completely!

Danny Spiller now on, replacing Danny Green, while Wes Thomas is on for Josh Scott

GOALFLASH - McDermott beats Roberts at the near post from the edge of the box to start the nerves fluttering for Daggers

Since the goal, Daggers tried the old keep it in the corner flag, and there are still about five minutes to go!

85MINS: Good spell of pressure for Spireites here, as Boden gets in the way of Lowrys shot, as it looked to be testing Roberts.

They can't seem to find their man just when they need to, though Griffiths did make a cracking challenge on Small as he burst through.

Final throw of the dice for Chesterfield now, as Currie comes on for Lester. Daggers have done well to limit his involvement today.

75MINS: Montgomery is now on for Nurse as both sides appear to have accepted the result at the moment.

Daggers are keeping it tight, but the visitors cant keep hold of possession long enough to test Roberts.

65MINS: Shots are raining in on the visitors goal now, as Nurse thumped one wide of the target.

Spiller must be itching to get on from the bench, but at the moment, there isnt a Daggers player who deserves to be withdrawn!

55MINS: Chances remain for either side here, as Gain has just fizzed in a volley that Lee did well to save at full stretch, while the Spireites just cant pick that final ball out.

Griffiths took aim too, but his shot flew inches wide, so yet again, there are more goals to be had!

JB had this to say: Good to get to half time 1-0 up - another steady performance and we'll be 3 points to the good.

Results going as well as can be expected - County having a rough time, Rotherham drawing - 3 points on a weekend like this is the most important thing.

Wonder if we'll see Spiller this half?

I think Spiller will get on at some point, but the crowd are still in awe of Bensons goal at the moment!

GOALFLASH - You won't see a better goal than that this weekend, Austin headed the ball up in the air, and Benson chested it down, before volleying over Lee from the edge of the box. A truly stunning finish

Daggers breathe a huge sigh of relief there as Lowry and Lester get in each others way, with just Roberts to beat.

But at the other end, Benson has headed wide too, so another all-action half is on the cards!

Players are gradually coming out for second half, and attendance has been called as 1,819 with 250 away - still cant break the 2,000 mark here.

HALF TIME: Daggers have the lead here - and its a good half from the hosts as they have coped with the physical threat of Chesterfield.

More in a bit!

44MINS: Somehow Chesterfield arent level, as Lowry puts the ball wide from about eight yards, with just Roberts to beat.

A huge let off for Daggers, and they will want to see this half out with no further trouble now.

Bizarre free kick from the visitors there, in a good position, Lowry put the ball into the box and nobody moved, giving Roberts an easy catch!

Now Doe has picked up a yellow too, so Daggers are picking up the cautions today.

35MINS: Benson has gone into the book now, for a poor tackle on Niven, so he has to be careful from now on.

Thurgood has put a shot just wide, but Daggers are living a little dangerously at the back, and the visitors look like they definitely have a goal in them today.

This was from JB, before the goal it must be said: Bournemouth are already 2-0 up and Ritchie has scored for County already - come on Daggers, get cracking!

27MINS: Well, that was all rather easy as Lee, the Chesterfield keeper, made no real attempt to win the ball, and Antiw was left all alone to head into the net.

Seconds later, Green put a volley inches over too, so Daggers have the lead here, and they don't usually give those away!

GOALFLASH - Will Antwi has just headed home from inside the six yard box after Benson got on the end of Green's corner

JB: ... and how could I forget? Well done Mr Still on a thoroughly deserved Manager of the Month! Let's hope the curse doesn't strike (nor in the Prem, as Defoe is in my Dream Team!)

Still has indeed done a fine job last month, took his side to the top of the table, no signs of the curse hitting just yet!

15MINS: Cracking tempo to the game already and Wade Small has just put a very presentable chance over the bar after linking up well with Lowry.

Daggers are at their visitors though, as Scott saw free kick stopped by Lee, before Doe made a magnificent sliding challenge in the area on Lester, had he mistimed that, it would have been a pen, no question.

Jamey Barron is first to show on the email: Big day today for us - got to bounce back from the points dropped last week. While it was a fair result, we can't start approaching games aiming for anything less than 3 points, and today's game - looking at the table - needs to be a win.

Spiller seems a good signing - I remember seeing him in a Gills shirt and liking him as a player. The squad John's assembled to be seems stronger than last year - and considering we lost so many players for nothing, I am glad to see us starting promisingly.

Should be interesting seeing County's signing of Ritchie - let's hope he goes back to Portsmouth before our game against them in the New Year!

Come on the Daggers - get scoring!

Must admit, I thought Spiller would start today, but I guess, the team havent done too badly so far this season, and he wilol have to wait his turn.

5MINS: A bit of a breather underway as Smalll gets some treatment, but its 100mph stuff here.

Daggers could be ahead, Chesterfield have tested Roberts, yet again, this game won't finish 0-0.

Right we're underway here, and Scott has already hit the post with an overhead volley, while Roberts has made a flying save from Breckin.

We could be in for an interesting afternoon!

Players are going through their final warm ups now in the glorious sunshine here, with the seats now up in the away stand too, all looking very professional is must be said!
