DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE could be interested in a move for Doug Loft after the midfielder was surprisingly released by Brighton & Hove Albion this week, writes MIKE SIMMONDS.
Loft made 10 appearances for the Daggers on loan, before he was recalled by Seagulls boss Russell Slade for the run-in, which saw Brighton avoid relegation to League Two.
Loft started the final six matches, in which Albion won four, so he might have been expecting a new deal.
Before Loft went back to his parent club, Daggers boss John Still said: "We would be interested in him for next season, but I couldn't say anything for definite, so he has to decide what is in his best interests."
