DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE have agreed to sign Dorchester Town striker Phil Walsh when the transfer window opens in January.

The 25-year-old, who can also play in the centre of defence, has netted four goals this season, and will move to Victoria Road for a small fee.

Walsh has enjoyed spells at Tiverton and Bath City before moving to Dorchester, who recently appointed former Daggers player Ashley Vickers as caretaker-manager.

Delighted

"We've agreed to bring in Phil from Dorchester and I'm delighted to make the signing," said Daggers boss John Still.

"We will be paying a fee for him, but it's only a small one.

"He is a six foot three inch centre-forward and will add to our front-line.

"We haven't got the biggest of squads, so signing Phil definitely strengthens that."

Still also confirmed that he had extended Gillingham midfielder Adam Miller's loan at the club for another month.

Miller has made six appearances since signing for Daggers, and has made no secret of his desire to remain at Victoria Road once his loan period expires.

"We've got Adam for another month now, and I'm very pleased with that," said the boss.

"I thought on Saturday against Bury that for the last half an hour, he put in a superb performance.

"He is naturally an attacking player, but because of Stuart Thurgood's injury, he is having to do a different kind of job.

"He is having to play more of a defensive role at times, and I thought he did that ever so well."
