DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE slipped to seventh in League Two after a defeat at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, a result that saw the hosts leapfrog them in the table.

Daggers had taken the lead when Paul Benson rifled in a superb drive from the edge of the penalty area, his 13th of the season after six minutes, only for Dave Hibbert to sweep home an equaliser shortly afterwards.

The killer goal arrived moments before half time, when substitute Steven Leslie hooked into the net from close range.

After the break, Daggers came close to a leveller, but were reduced to 10 men when Scott Doe was sent off.
