DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE have been dealt a huge blow with the news that midfielder Stuart Thurgood is expected to be out of action until the New Year.
The former Grays man is undergoing an operation today (Wednesday) in a bid to repair knee ligament damage, and it could see him on the sidelines for up to three months.
The news comes as a bitter disappointment for manager John Still as Thurgood has been a key member in Daggers midfield since joining the club in the summer, playing every minute of every league game until he picked up an injury in the 2-1 home defeat by Rochdale.
The former Grays and Gillingham man returned to action at Harlow in the Essex Senior Cup last week, but was forced off after a robust challenge on 50 minutes.
Boss Still has moved to cover Thurgood's absence with Adam Miller extending his loan deal from Gillingham for another month.
