DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE's Boxing Day trip to Northampton Town should beat the weather, according to Cobblers boss Ian Sampson.

Both sides saw their matches last weekend fall foul of the arctic conditions, but Sampson doesn't see a problem with the Sixfields surface.

"We are confident that the game will be on.

"The pitch here is very soft at the moment underneath a blanket of snow. We want to keep that covering in place to keep the pitch warm as long as possible.

"I am sure there won't be a problem at all."
