TWO first half goals from Josh Scott and Danny Green saw Dagenham & Redbridge move back into the League Two promotion places as they defeated Crewe Alexandra today.

In their first match of 2010, Daggers, who were once again led by Terry Harris and Wayne Burnett in the absence of ill manager John Still, gave a debut to Marlon Pack, while Abu Ogogo came in at right back.

The visitors looked threatening and missed a glorious chance through Steven Schumacher, but Daggers were in front when Scott glanced a header high into the net from a Green cross on 35 minutes.

It was 2-0 moments before half time when Danny Spiller set up Green and he fired low into the net from 20 yards.

After the break, Crewe threatened sporadically, but Daggers eased to victory and now sit third in League Two.
