DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE picked up a fine 1-0 victory at Burton Albion on Saturday, courtesy of Paul Benson's early goal.

Here is how we rated the players.

GK: Tony Roberts - 8 - had very little to do throughout the game, but a vital penalty save before the break meant Burton had it all to do in the second half.

RB: Scott Doe - 8 - was caused problems by Robin Shroot on the right hand side, but coped well with the winger and made a number of important clearances.

LB: Scott Griffiths - 8 - busy on the left hand side yet again and hardly put a foot wrong all afternoon, set up the goal too with a cross from his weaker right foot.

CB: Mark Arber - 8 - leading the line exceptionally well this year, seems to be in the right place more often that not to clear he danger.

CB: Will Antwi - 7 - was slightly unlucky to concede the penalty, but recovered well to put in yet another solid display for his new club.

RW: Danny Green - 7 - didn't see as much of the ball as he has done in recent games, while sometimes his defensive work on the right hand side is a little lacking.

CM: Peter Gain - 7 - got stuck in yet again and did a lot of the donkey work in midfield, always has a coolness and presence of mind on the ball that is so vital when Daggers are defending.

CM: Stuart Thurgood - 8 - STAR MAN - proving to be such an important signing for Daggers as he has bundles of energy and was all over the pitch yet again.

LW: Jon Nurse - 7 - got forward whenever he could and put in a number of crosses, got the all-important flick to Griffiths' cross for Benson's goal too.

CF: Josh Scott - 6 - quiet game from the big forward, who was well marshalled by Guy Branston and co, needs to work on getting in the box more.

CF: Paul Benson - 7 - spent most of his game chasing lost causes, but had two chances and scored one of them, to maintain his hot streak in front of goal. Proving invaluable as the season progesses.

SUBS

Wes Thomas (Scott 78) - 6 - stretched the home defence in the final few minutes as his fresh legs had plenty of pace to burn.

Danny Spiller (Nurse 81) - 6 - another experienced body in midfield to help run down the clock.

SUBS NOT USED: Chris Lewington, Abu Ogogo, Billy Bingham, Graeme Montgomery, Tommy Tejan-Sie.
