DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE picked up their first victory of 2010 with a much-needed triumph over Crewe Alexandra on Saturday. Here is how we rated the players.

GK: Tony Roberts - 8 - showed just how important he is to Daggers at times with three fine saves at crucial times of the match.

RB: Abu Ogogo - 7 - first start for almost three months but didn't look like he had been away as slipped seamlessly into the back four. Hopefully he will grab his chance with both hands now.

LB: Jamie Day - 5 - shaky performance from the Peterborough loan man as he was often caught in possession and struggled to show the improvement he had made in recent weeks

CB: Mark Arber - 8 - at the heart of the defence for Daggers and was yet again a model of consistency. Without doubt in his finest spell of form since returning to the club.

CB: Scott Doe - 8 - continues to get better and better with each game now and is becoming the master of the last-ditch tackle. You can't see Will Antwi getting back into the team with Scott on this kind of form.

RW: Danny Green - 7 - looked much more of a threat than he had in recent weeks with some lethal crosses from the right flank. Also on target for the first time since October and hopefully we will now see a return to his early season form.

CM: - Danny Spiller - 7 - took his time getting into the game but once he did, set up the second goal with some good vision and produced plenty of classy touches in the second half. A run of games could see the former Gillingham man back to his best.

CM: Marlon Pack - 6 - made his debut but he struggled to fully show what he could do as play often bypassed him. Hard to judge on one performance though as it takes time to become attuned to the Daggers style of play.

LW: Peter Gain - 6 - out on the wing again and found it hard not to keep drifting inside, which meant Daggers left flank was under-used. Looked more comfortable the moment Graeme Montgomery came on.

CF: Josh Scott - 8 - STAR MAN - opened the scoring with a classy header and gave another powerful display upfront. Just pips Doe and Arber to the award as even when Daggers were struggling in the opening 30 minutes, he remained a constant threat.

CF: Paul Benson - 7 - denied twice by Steve Phillips, he didn't have a great deal of opportunities inside the Crewe box, but his control and link up play were excellent once more.

SUBS

Graeme Montgomery (Pack 75) - 6 - first taste of action since the 6-1 defeat by Huddersfield back in November and every touch received a cheer from the Daggers faithful.

Jon Nurse (Scott 79) - 6- thrown on late to harry the Crewe backline and did it to good affect.

SUBS NOT USED: Chris Lewington, Wesley Thomas, Darren Currie, Tommy Tejan-Sie, Phil Walsh.
