DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE were knocked out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy by MK Dons last night after a 3-1 defeat.

Here is how we rated the players.

GK: Tony Roberts - 5 - not a good night for Roberts, as he was at fault for all three of the goals. Needs to clear the ball into touch at times, but has the experience to bounce back against Cheltenham.

RB: Abu Ogogo - 6 - struggled at times against the MK Dons' tricky wingers, but showed he was up for the fight on his full debut.

LB: Scott Griffiths - 7 - STAR MAN gave his all yet again and put in some fine tackles in an excellent display from the left back.

CB: Mark Arber - 6 - poor communication with Roberts for the first goal, and it happened again later in the game, so needs to be eradicated quickly.

CB: Will Antwi - 7 - almost opened his account for Daggers with a volley that hit the post, and was usually in the right place to clear the danger.

RW: Jon Nurse - 6 - good start to the game, with some positive runs down the right flank, but faded away once MK Dons took control.

CM: Peter Gain - 6 - one of his less effective games for Daggers as Dons passed around him at times, switching the ball from one side to another with ease.

CM: Tom Kilbey - 6 - must have been hard to the youngster as he only met his team-mates a few hours beforehand, but showed some promising signs in central midfield and a few nice touches on the ball.

LW: Graeme Montgomery - 6 - delivered some excellent crosses in the first half, especially from deep, but like Nurse, didn't make much impact as the game wore on.

CF: Wes Thomas - 7 - proved a handful throughout the game, and had it not been for two fine saves by Gueret, could have scored a couple of goals.

CF: Paul Benson - 7 - looked dangerous in the opening period, breaking the Dons offside trap, and almost put Daggers ahead, but for a good stop by the keeper

SUBS

Danny Green (Benson 54) - 7 - one excellent cross almost set up Thomas for a goal and caused problems when he came on.

Josh Scott (Nurse 71) - 6 - not much time to get involved as Dons were winding down the game, but in the right place to force a consolation goal.

SUBS NOT USED: Chris Lewington, Scott Doe, Billy Bingham.
