DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE were held to a 1-1 draw by Port Vale at Victoria Road on Saturday as substitute Josh Scott netted a late equaliser, here is how we rated the players.

GK: Tony Roberts - 6 - was barely tested throughout the 90 minutes, as apart from Vale's goal and a late save from Marc Richards, it was a quiet afternoon for the Welshman.

RB: Scott Doe - 6 - back at right back with Ogogo suspended and turned in an honest shift, made some fine challenges when he was called upon too.

LB: Matt Lockwood - 7 - promising showing from the loanee who had only been with the club since Thursday. Has obvious quality on the ball and his dangerous corners show another string to his bow.

CB: Mark Arber - 7 - solid for the majority of the match and won a great flick on for Scott to nip in and lob the winner late on.

CB: Will Antwi - 7 - lucky not to concede a penalty in the second half after bringing down Kris Taylor, but apart from that, he won his headers with his usual dominance.

RW: Danny Green - 7 - quieter game than he has enjoyed at home of late, but improved as the match wore on and put in some good crosses from the wing.

CM: - Peter Gain 8 - came into the game as Daggers pressed for an equaliser and eventually won the midfield battle, definitely prefers to be back in the heart of the action rather than stuck on the wing.

CM: Stuart Thurgood - 8 - STAR MAN - his energy never ceases to amaze and gave the perfect example of his commitment to the cause when he was floored by a challenge late, but still managed to win the ball with his head!

LW: Jon Nurse - 5 - never really got going as he struggled to make any inroads on the left flank against Sam Stockley.

CF: Wes Thomas - 6 - his searing pace will always cause trouble, but there needs to be more emphasis on his hold up play and first touch. A work in progress.

CF: Paul Benson - 6 - his partnership with Thomas didn't really gel and it was only when Scott came on that he started to get going again. Denied by a good save but should have won the match late on only to head over the bar.

SUBS

Josh Scott (Thomas 67) - 7 - showed great character to come back from a poor miss with a classy finish late in the day to salvage a point.

Graeme Montgomery (Nurse 73) - 7 - pushing hard for a starting berth on the wing now as Daggers looked more dangerous the minute he stepped on to the pitch as his crosses caused no end of panic.

Harlee Dean (Doe 82) - 7 - league debut for the youngster and could have scored with his first touch, but put a header over, another potential gem from the manager though.

SUBS NOT USED: Chris Lewington, Billy Bingham, Steven Demetriou, Tommy Tejan-Sie.
