DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE gained the perfect revenge over Shrewsbury Town for their final day of the season defeat last campaign, with a 5-0 spanking at Victoria Road on Tuesday night
Here is how we rated the players.
GK: Tony Roberts - 8 - hard to keep concentrating when your side go 4-0, but he made a stunning save from Jake Robinson and will be delighted with his first clean sheet of the season.
RB: Scott Doe - 7 - getting better with every game, but still needs to be switched on for the full 90-minutes as Shrews had some joy down his flank.
LB: Scott Griffiths - 9 - ended his long drought in glorious style and is getting forward far more this season, who knows, there might be another couple of goals to come?!
CB: Mark Arber - 8 - silly booking late on spoiled another accomplished display from Arber, had both Hibbert and Elder under control all night.
CB: Will Antwi - 9 - cleared everything that came his way and also caused a few problems at the other end, hasn't put a foot wrong for Daggers yet.
RW: Danny Green - 8 - good cross for Benson's cross and still showing a refreshing positivity on the ball, looking to beat his man at every single opportunity, and more often than not, it's working.
CM: Solomon Taiwo - 9 - he's becoming a serious player this season, and John Still will be hoping no clubs come sniffing around before the transfer window shuts in under two weeks time.
CM: Stuart Thurgood - 9 - storming display from Thurgood, who must be running on Duracell batteries, as he just never stops!
LW: Peter Gain - 8 - three assists on the night for Gain, who is finding a new niche for himself out on the left flank this season.
CF: Josh Scott - 8 - another fine performance from Scott, who holds the ball up intelligently and would have had a goal himself had it not been for a fine save.
CF: Paul Benson - 10 - STAR MAN not much more you can say about Benson's performances, four chances, four goals, in a stunning display of goalscoring.
SUBS
Wes Thomas (Scott 72) - 6 - came on well it was all over bar the shouting, but still tried to stretch the visitors defence whenever he could.
Graeme Montgomery (Green 77) - 6 - coming on when the team is 5-0 up, there isn't much left to be done, but he gave the side some extra width.
SUBS NOT USED: Chris Lewington, Alex Bentley, Abu Ogogo, Billy Bingham, Anwar Uddin.
