THE FORCES' sweetheart, Dame Vera Lynn, who entertained the troops in Egypt, India and Burma, is to pen her memoirs at the age of 92.

Dame Vera, originally from Upney Lane in Barking, gave hope to a nation at war with her performances of We'll Meet Again.

She is to name her autobiography after a line from that famous song - Some Sunny Day.

The book, published in June this year, is to be a full account of her life detailing all the scandals, hardships and happiness.

Dame Vera, who was voted "Person who most represents the spirit of the last Century", has agreed to tour Britain to promote the book.
