ORIENT stopper Daniel Bygrave was the hero after his two penalty shoot-out saves helped the youth team progress to the semi-final of the Puma Youth Alliance Cup Southern Section.
After drawing 2-2 with Bristol Rovers in normal time, the O's held their nerve in the shoot-out as penalty stopper specialist Bygrave produced the goods.
All four Orient takers, Jake Argent, Adam Bolle, Elliott Babbs and Harry Baker scored.
The hosts took the lead in normal time through Bolle.
Rovers had rarely threatened, but equalised after 53 minutes, as slack marking from a free kick left a Pirates player free to head home from close range.
The visitors took the lead 11 minutes later, but on 78 minutes Baker equalised for the hosts to force penalties, where Orient and in particular Bygrave showed grit.
