What sort of employer would accept employees unable to attend their place of work for 85% of their contracted period?.

Il find it difficult to accept this is an accepted practice for a football club to keep on their books a player or players who don't play or can't play football and they get paid thousands of pounds.

Is there an answer for this, like an insurance payment to the club for long term injury.

We have players who the supporters only get a fleeting glance of two or three times a season, who would be a football manager? It would drive me crazy.
