A gutsy and determined performance from all the team, particularly so given the fact that the midfield had to be virtually invented on the day. However, two performances really stood out for me.
Junior Stanislas looks a real find, possibly another Collison, - he showed ability and invention going forward, but also got back and defended really well.
The other standout was Tomkins. He gave a masterclass in central defence, and his pace was such that Cisse never got a sniff.
How appropriate then that it should be these two guys who scored the goals.
Special mentions also for: Lucas Neill, who showed what an adaptable and creative player he is; LBM, who was typically determined in the tackle, and was the principal architect of the first goal; and Rob Green, who was a rock as ever.
Interesting dilemma for Zola now: I am a huge fan of James Collins and relieved he is fit again, but on this form Tomkins is going to be hard to dislodge.

As for Stanislas, I should think his name is already on the teamsheet.
