FORMER Iron Maiden man Dennis Stratton and guitarist Dave Edwards, who have been playing pubs in the area for the past few years, start up a Sunday residency at The Bridgehouse II this weekend.
Stratton, born in Canning Town, and Remus Down Boulevard bandmate Edwards, were regular performers at The Britannia pub, Barking, until it closed last year.
They also played a popular Sunday afternoon slot at The Prince Albert, Plaistow, but it, too, is closing down.
For five years, the Sunday lunchtime slot was known as a friendly, and sociable afternoon where the pair could get to meet up with old friends, play some tunes, and have a chat with people that they have made friendships with over the years of playing the live music circuit in east London.
So The Bridgehouse II stepped in. The first weekly Dennis and Dave Sunday Social at the venue in Bidder Street, Canning Town, kicks off at 4pm.
Admission is free and children are welcome.
