BUDDING entrepreneurs from the borough had a lecture from TV's Dragons' Den star, Levi Roots.

The inventor of the 'Reggae Reggae Sauce' who secured investment for his product after pitching to the celebrity business experts, spoke at the 'Hotnet' launch event at Barking Broadway Theatre.

The 'Hotnet' service is supported by Knowledge Dock, the University of East London's enterprise development service, and funded by the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative.

The purpose of the project is to encourage business growth in Barking and Dagenham, by helping businesses to start up.

Levi told his audience of 50 people on the steps they should take to be successful, and spoke about how his grandmother's exclusive recipe became a national favourite.

His advice included encouraging referrals, finding a mentor and good lawyer for support, and never forgetting original customers.
