POLICE have carried out a raid on a house in Valence Ward, Dagenham - seizing a large amount of drugs and cash.

Officers arrived at the property on Tuesday, March 11 at 6pm - but the occupants were not at home.

Police then forced the lock on the front door to carry out the search warrant which had been issued for the premises by magistrates at Barking Court.

The action followed concerns being raised to the authorities by the local community who were worried about possible drug dealing in the area.

Animal control officers took part in the operation, to help subdue the family's rottweiler, which they secured in the bathroom after the room was searched.
