Drugs needles found in park

A WEAPONS sweep and knife arch operation by Goresbrook Safer Neighbourhood Team found several needles but no knives.

Officers searched commuters at Becontree tube station, and scoured Goresbrook Park.

A few syringes and discarded metal piping was found in the park, and one person was arrested at the station for a different offence.

They were joined by Mayesbrook SNT and transport police to help push home the message of 'Operation Blunt.'
