KIERON DYER is back in full training and is vying for a place on the bench for Saturday's trip to Sunderland.

The midfielder has been missing since the Carling Cup defeat at Bolton in September and has been having treatment on a hamstring injury.

However, he has now returned to training with the rest of the squad and manager Gianfranco Zola is keen to get him back playing again.

Dyer has played a part in just 15 per cent of West Ham's games, and been on the field for less than seven per cent of the entire action in the 98 games played since his arrival in the summer of 2007.

Scott Parker is suspended for Saturday's clash after his two yellow cards against Arsenal, and Zola must choose between recalling Radoslav Kovac or juggling his midfield by putting Mark Noble into the holding role.

The latter would enable Alessandro Diamanti to return to the starting line-up, while another possible change is the recall of speedy striker Zavon Hines for Guillermo Franco.

Luis Jimenez is also hoping for a recall after being drop-ped against Arsenal, while Jonathan Spector is likely to keep his place.
