Eastbury Manor House to throw open doors for summer fete

One of Barking’s oldest buildings next week becomes the setting for a fun-filled summer fete.
The Grade I listed Eastbury Manor House hosts a range of free games and activities at the event on Sunday, August 19.
They include arts and crafts, croquet, outdoor games, face painting, ‘make your lemonade’ workshops and interesting stalls.
Kids can try their hand at archery with trained instructors for a small fee, while visitors enjoy live music performances from the Barking and Eastbury Concert Band.
“This year’s Eastbury summer fete promises to be a wonderful day out for the whole family, with a great range of entertainment on offer,” said deputy council leader Saima Ashraf.
“It would be fantastic to see as many residents as possible in attendance, to support one of the borough’s most iconic buildings.”
Anyone hoping to host a stall at the event, which runs from 11am to 4pm, should email firstname.lastname@example.org
