Pupils and staff have celebrated the official launch of their new school building.
Greatfields School, which is at the heart of the Gascoigne estate redevelopment, will eventually cater for 2,430 pupils from primary level through to the sixth form.
And while the first pupils started in September 2016, it is only now that the Year 7 and 8 youngsters have been moved from their temporary home to the permanent building.
Headteacher Richard Paul said: “I am thrilled with the quality of our brand-new school which has been designed with our teaching and learning philosophy at the core.
“I will work tirelessly to ensure that the young people of this community have access to a first-class education which gives them the opportunity to go on and achieve their aspirations.”
The 21,500 sq m school is being built in three stages and features large, modern classrooms.
