Barking and Dagenham College tutor has been awarded for her expertise in teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Marcia Mendoza, STEM learning co-ordinator at the college, bagged the Enthuse Award for excellence at the ceremony at the Royal Society in Charing Cross.
The awards celebrate the impact of professional development on teachers, technicians, schools and colleges in the crucial areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
“With continued support and encouragement from the college’s senior leadership, I know that our STEM work will go from strength to strength,” she said.
Marcia and the other winners from London and south east England will go on to the UK-wide finals and attend a prestigious event at the House of Commons later this year.
