Out of this world veg is set to be grown at a supersonic primary school.
Rocket seeds which have been flown to the International Space Station will be grown at Northbury Primary School in Barking as part of an experiment launched by the RHS Campaign for School Gardening and the UK Space Agency.
Pupils from the Northbury Close school will plant the seeds alongside those that haven’t been to space and measure the differences over seven weeks.
The children won’t know which seeds are which until all the results have been collected and analysed by professionals.
Kulvinder Kaur Johal, Northbury’s assistant head and science co-ordinator, said: “We are very excited to be taking part in Rocket Science.
“This experiment is a fantastic way of teaching our pupils to think more scientifically and share their findings with the whole school community.”
Up to 10,000 schools nationwide could take part in the project.
