Actress Barbara Windsor gave cadets from the borough the encouragement that they needed to carry on as they volunteered during an annual tea dance.
The cadets put on their dancing shoes to help out at the event held in the dazzling Great Room of Westminster’s Grosvenor House.
More than 1,000 pensioners enjoyed an afternoon of fun, tea and live music and met Windsor, who was guest of honour.
Claire Appleby, campaigns manager for Westminster City Council thanked the cadets, who were joined by groups from Redbridge and Westminster.
“We could not have got people in safely or helped them to dance so much and have such a good time without them,” she added.
