Eastbury School in Barking is the most improved school in the borough, according to early reports.
The amount of students achieving five or more A*-C with English and maths was 57 per cent.
Headteacher David Dickson told the Post he believed the school had made the biggest leap.
He said: “I have always been extremely proud of all the students at Eastbury and these monumental results are a result of their hard work.
“I am absolutely delighted with the results and working together with the parents is what has made them achievable.”
