Children cheer as they unveil a gate giving them access to a 28-acre playing field.
The 480-place Valence Primary in Bonham Road, Dagenham, will be able to use Valence Park at playtime for the first time.
Margaret Hodge, the MP for Barking, had lobbied for the opening of the passage linking the school and the park since October.
She said: āIām absolutely delighted that the gate has finally been built. It means so much to the children at Valence Primary School. They now have access to much more place in which to play now.ā
