Barking and Dagenham College played host to student bricklayers from across the south east in a bid to help encourage more colleges to take part in skills competitions.
Students from Havering, Kent, south Essex and Hackney took part in the college’s brickwork competition.
They had to construct a hollow pillar and a connecting brick wall which had to also include a decorative feature made with contrasting bricks.
The college ran the event, on June 19, after being asked by the National Apprenticeship Service to help showcase the opportunities skills competitions present to students.
