Schools across Barking and Dagenham are shutting their doors this morning due to the wintry weather.

Heavy snow has fallen across the country overnight, leading some schools to take the decision to shut for the day.

Others, however, have said that they will remain open and that pupils should attend as normal.

Confirmed closed:

Barking Abbey School - sixth form only

Leys Primary School

Robert Clack School

Parsloes Primary School

St Vincent’s Primary School

Confirmed open:

All Saints Catholic School

Dorothy Barley Infant School

Gascoigne Primary School

Hopewell School

Jo Richardson Community School

Marks Gate Infant School

Northbury Primary School

Riverside School

Sydney Russell School

Valence Primary School

Delayed start:

Barking Abbey School - 9.30am for Years 7 to 11

Eastbury School - 9.40am
